  1. I'm glad I left the artists statement for last. By the time I actually got to it, I felt out of place in the whole room, and by the sounds of the statement, that feels accurate to me. Discomfort felt accurate, being out of place felt accurate. relayed to us by the artist who may have felt out of place at one point. The intent may not have been just that, but the results of the work as a whole felt just like that.

The video loop, however, was my only stamp of consistency in that it was a loop, paired by noises of static, if I remember right. White noise has always been a comfort to me, but it is also symbolic of "nothing but noise" or is often used in movies to mark hypnotism of some kind.

  2. Thanks for this, Chelsi! I appreciate the feedback and analyses AND the comfort and connection that accompanies your reaction; nice to feel like a part of something bigger and to feel at home within our creative class here. :)
